Becoming More Effective (and Efficient) Managers and Leaders – presented by Hank Grimmick
About This Workshop
Managing and leading in an organization has changed dramatically in the past decade. Organizations have become “flatter;” spans of control have increased; many teams have become “virtual,” with members in different cities, different states, and even different countries. Whether or not our title includes the word “manager,” we are taking on added responsibility by formally and informally managing and leading teams, work groups, and projects. It seems we’re constantly being expected to “do more with less.” This workshop offers concrete tools and techniques that will help us take on those added responsibilities, be more effective in our interactions with others, and be more efficient doing it.
Who Should Attend?
- Individual contributors who want to move into a management or supervisory role.
- New managers who are not getting the results they expect.
- Formal and informal leaders of teams, work groups, or projects.
What Will You Learn?
Using discussions and small group exercises, we will better understand our leadership style and how we interact with others. We will identify ways to more effectively communicate, motivate, delegate, and make decisions, as well as ways to do it more efficiently. We will also deal with the issue of conflict in the workplace and how to best handle it.
