STC professional chapters are located around the globe for those who enjoy the benefits of local programming and networking with a diverse focus.

Charlotte Regional

The Charlotte Regional chapter of STC serves primarily members in and nearby the city of Charlotte, North Carolina.


Chicago is one of STC's oldest and largest chapters. Members include technical writers & editors, content developers, instructional designers, academics, usability experts, web designers & developers, and translators.

East Bay

The East Bay Chapter, established in 1962, serves members in the corridor of Highways 580 and 680 in the San Francisco, East Bay Area.

East Tennessee

The East Tennessee Chapter provides a range of activities including membership meetings with guest speakers, community service, and technical publication & art competitions.

Eastern Iowa

The mission of the Eastern Iowa Chapter of STC is to provide professional, social, and community service activities for technical communicators in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, Dubuque, and the surrounding areas.


The France Chapter supports technical communication professionals and students with networking opportunities, educational events, and career development resources.


The Houston Chapter was formed in 1962 and provides networking, employment, volunteer, and educational opportunities.

Huntsville/North Alabama

The Huntsville/North Alabama (H/NA) Chapter has been a leading professional resource for area technical communicators since 1959.
