The BA in English, Technical Communication Emphasis consists of six required courses in technical communication, as well as other required courses in economics, computer science, management, communications, and linguistics. Students also serve as interns at one of the many high-tech companies in the Treasure Valley. Boise State University also offers a Masters of Art Program and both Undergraduate and Graduate Certification programs.

Missouri State University

Our program, part of the Missouri State University English Department, is the most advanced professional and technical writing program in Missouri.

North Dakota State University

The mission of the English Department at North Dakota State University is to inspire an appreciation for the English language and its literatures, and to cultivate its effective use in creative expression and day-to-day life. We offer three minors, a BA and BS degree in English, a BA and BS in English Education (in cooperation with the School of Education) an MA in English and a Ph.D. in English: Practical Writing.

University of Minnesota

Since 1977 the University of Minnesota has offered a master’s degree in technical communication. Ours is one of the oldest and most highly respected programs of its kind in the country.

West Virginia University

The MA in Professional Writing and Editing is a 30-hour degree that combines theories of writing with practice in real-world writing situations. Students will study professional writing theory, the history of rhetoric, editing, rhetorical analysis, new modes of digital composition, and writing ethics.

Wright State University

Graduate Study in English is a professional program of study leading to a degree of Master of Arts in English, with a concentration in one of three areas: Literature, Composition and Rhetoric, or TESOL. All students in the graduate program must complete 48 to 50 hours of graduate study, including a required graduate research methods course and a number of required seminars.
