From the NomComm: STC as a global organization 7 months 3 days ago #100

Q: STC is a global organization. List the languages you speak, the countries you have worked in and your favorite travel destinations. (If you own a current passport, please state so.) Also, what experiences do you have in projects with culturally-diverse teams?

Paul Mueller

I have worked with teams throughout the United States, India, and Bolivia. In addition, I work with companies who have offices around the world, including recent projects with personnel in Australia.

I have used my passport to travel throughout many parts of Europe including Germany, France, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. I have also traveled to various islands and countries in the Caribbean. I speak some German and I have established relationships with both friends and industry leaders who live in Germany. I also have family who live in the Netherlands, Finland, and Belgium.

Bernard Aschwanden

I consider myself to have a lot of international experience. I am a dual citizen of Canada and Switzerland; living in Canada, but visiting Europe when I can. I speak English and Swiss German, and a bit of French. In the past few years have travelled extensively, representing tech comm around the world.

I’ve travelled to India, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Belgium, Denmark, England, Austria, Luxembourg, Italy, Mexico, and Belize. In North America I’ve been to every Canadian province from the Atlantic to the Pacific. In the USA I’ve travelled to so many states that I exceed character counts when listing them. However, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, IL, IN, LA, MA, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, NV, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WA, and WY fit.

I’ve worked with international teams made up of people from all over the world, across almost every time zone. The majority of my travel is for business, but I love my work and always take a bit of extra time to visit locally in any new area that I get to explore.
