Start your engines! The 2015 Chapter and SIG race has started.
It’s time to start your engines, shift your recruitment strategies into high gear, and begin the 2015 Chapter and SIG new and renewal member race. This year, member recruitment and retention will not only strengthen your association but also your chapter or Special Interest Group (SIG).
We have increased the value of STC membership through new programs and services. As we stay ahead of this ever-changing world of technical communication, it is up to you as the member to reach out and spread the word about how STC has helped you in your career.
Grow your community and get rewarded for your efforts! Your recruits will also get rewarded with a free 2015 community membership. It's a win-win for everyone.
The Goal: To increase community membership
The Offer: Free 2015 community membership to any renewing or new STC member
Each Chapter and SIG member is asked to recruit 2015 renewing or new members starting 18 March-1 June. Members who join or renew will receive:
- A free 2015 membership in the referring chapter or SIG.
It's easy! When recruiting a member, please ask them not to sign up or pay for the Chapter or SIG, but to include the name of the Chapter or SIG who referred them on the online application. The referral fields can be found under the Membership tab of the online application. STC will be responsible for signing the member up for that particular Chapter or SIG free of charge. The community must be listed online to receive credit.
The Chapter or SIG with the highest percentage of new or renewing members are entered to win prizes to be raffled to your members at the end of the campaign.
Scoring: One point to the community for signing up a member from any of these four categories – Classic, New TC Pro, Student or Gold
New 2015 Corporate Value Package (CVP) members may be recruited and are worth one point per individual. For example, if five new members join (as a CVP from one company) your community will receive five points.
The prizes for the Chapter or SIG with the highest percentage of new and/or renewing members include new members, plus:
- Two upgrades to Gold Membership
- One $500 registration credit toward STC's 2016 Summit
- One Community Roundtable with Chris Lyons, STC's Chief Executive Officer
- One Society Pages article in Intercom magazine
- One community spotlight post on the STC Notebook blog
We strongly encourage communities to raffle off these prizes for their members. Be sure to remind new and renewing members to list your community in the referral field! You will not receive credit otherwise.
