Useful PDFs on Kindle Fire/Android?
Discussion started by John Sgammato , on 28 February 04:57 PM

Has anyone found a way to read a PDF on a Kindle Fire (or other Android device) with working embedded links? I can read the PDF OK, but the ToC and x-ref links do not work on the Android device. This is so both with the native PDF reader and with the Adobe Reader app.

Thanks, Tony!
I had hoped to avoid requiring users to install a third-party app, but I guess it is unavoidable until the basic reader has full functionality.
I wouldn't mind requiring the Adobe Reader app, but that doesn't work with the links either.

John,

I have a Samsung Charge cell phone (Android device). I just tested a document that has hyperlinks on it. The hyperlinks didn't work on the basic PDF reader on my phone. I then purchased and downloaded an App called "EZ PDF Reader Pro". The links in my test document worked just fine.

If you ever get an Apple product, you should go with the App called "GoodReader". It too allows the links to work on a PDF.

I hope that helps you.
