Celebrating 60 Years of Advancing Technical Communication

We are excited to be celebrating our 60th anniversary as the largest association dedicated to advancing the profession of technical communication. For the 2013 Annual Fund drive, you may donate to STC and be recognized at any level within any of three programs. Your name and level will be listed on the website, along with any of the special designations you provide. 

Individual Giving

For those who wish to give at any of these levels:
  • Premier Donor—$1,000 or more in cash or appreciated stock.
  • Organizational Donor—$251–$999 in cash or appreciated stock.
  • Friend of STC—up to $250 in cash or appreciated stock.
  • Marian Norby Legacy Society—naming STC as a beneficiary in your Will or Trust, your life insurance policy, or your tax-deferred retirement account.

Donations given “In honor of [a past president]” will include Presidents’ Fund next to your name in the Donor Honor Roll. listings. Donations given “in honor of STC’s 60th anniversary” will include 60th Anniversary Fund next to your name.  You can also donate in your name or in the honor of someone else, or your donation may remain anonymous. Please use the comments section in PayPal for how you would like your donation to be listed in the Honor Roll.

These levels of giving are calculated cumulatively, over time.

Cash Gifts

Your cash gift to STC will help support Society programs and ensure that STC will continue to provide a high level of service to members and the technical communication community. You can give online to STC using a major credit card or through PayPal. Your cash gift may be tax deductible.

Remember that many companies have matching gift programs that may help you enhance the value of your gift to STC. Be sure to check with your employer’s benefits department to determine whether your company will match your charitable contribution to STC.

Sustaining Member or Sustaining Organizational Member

For those individuals or organizations who wish to support STC at specific monetary levels.

Platinum-Level Donor—$10,000 or more

Gold-Level Donor—$5,000–$9,999

Silver-Level Donor—$1,000–$4,999

Sustaining members receive visibility and recognition for their donations in STC media, conferences, and the Web. Sustaining Organizational memberships are not to be confused with STC’s Corporate Value Program (CVP) memberships or with sponsorships.

Donations given “In honor of [a past president]” will include Presidents’ Fund next to your name or corporate name in the Donor Honor Roll listings. Donations given “in honor of STC’s 60th anniversary” will include 60th Anniversary Fund next to your name or corporate name.

These levels of giving are calculated annually.

Endowment Fund Donor

For those who wish to support STC’s future rather than its current operations and programs.

Donations so designated will be collected in a separate account and invested in an Endowment Fund once the minimum ($15,000) is raised. More details on the Endowment Fund will be available soon.

These Giving Programs should not be confused with other corporate and individual discount programs for those who purchase memberships, publications, educational products, etc., in bulk. For descriptions of those programs please see STC’s Corporate Value Program (CVP).
